It's that time of year. Time to dust off that box in the attic with the words "CHRISTMAS" written on it, and break out those holly jolly movies. These are a list of my personal favorite Christmas movies, in no particular order. So, without further a due:
Santa Claus (1959/1960):
This movie is not very well known, but it is a cult favorite. This is one of those "it's so bad it's good" type of movies. You shouldn't go into this movie thinking about holiday joy, but look at it as a comedy. With robotic reindeer, Santa living in space, Santa's laboratory, and the inclusion of Merlin the Wizard, this is one of the strangest Christmas movies of all time, but I like it.
National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (1989):
Chevy Chase is the master of physical comedy! This film is very relatable, dealing with annoying family members, the difficulty of putting up decorations, mean neighbors, and the stress of Christmas as a whole. Recommended for those who want a laugh, while not tarnishing the Christmas season.
A Christmas Carol (Any year):
Also known as "Scrooge", this is a timeless tale about a stingy old man turning his life around during the Christmas season. There are many different versions, each adding something different. So different, I currently own 4 different version of it, and I don't feel like I'm watching the same movie over again.
A Christmas Story (1983):
Another Christmas comedy. A boy wants a gun for Christmas, but everyone tells him the same thing "You'll shoot your eye out!" It's all from the perspective of the main character, Ralphie. His perspective on life and situations is hilarious, and you just can't help but root for him.
Rankin/Bass Christmas animated classics:
The best way to celebrate Christmas, is to enjoy classics like Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Frosty the Snowman, The Little Drummer Boy, The Year Without a Santa Claus, etc. You can usually get all of them on a box set, and each film is worth the cash. You really have to see them for yourself to enjoy them.
It's a Wonderful Life (1946):
"Everytime a bell rings, an angel gets his wings". A man who has been beaten down by life is attempting to commit suicide, only to be greeted by an angel, who shows him what would happen if he was never born. All of this moves this man, and he returns home to his family for Christmas, which is utterly heartwarming.

Movies To Watch On Halloween
This is my favorite part of Halloween, the movies! These are the movies that can easily make your Halloween one of the best. So here they are:
Nightmare On Elm Street (1984):
This movie does not take place on Halloween, but it still delivers the horror. Freddy Krueger makes a scary enough villain, and plus you see him ever Halloween. I highly recommend this.
Dracula (1931):
Dracula is one of the most popular Halloween monsters in current history. You see little vampires at your doorstep every year, mostly in the form of Dracula. This is the movie that started it all, the long cape, the accent, everything you know well about vampires. It may no longer be scary, but it continues to fascinate across the globe.
Frankenstein (1931):
Another classic Halloween monster originates here, in the form of Frankenstein's monster. You know him well, he is very much a popular aspect of Halloween in himself. While he may appear more in the form of decorations instead of costumes, he still brings an impact every Halloween.
The Wolf Man (1941):
Yet another classic Halloween monster, the werewolf. Not much to say about this film, a guy becomes a wolf at a full moon, you know how it works.
Hocus Pocus (1993):
This is very much a Halloween movie. There are three witches, and they are all very funny. The kids may not be good actors, but the witches are the only reason to watch this movie anyway.
Halloween (1978):
I can't say enough good things about this movie. It's scary, but there is no gore in this movie. There is blood, but only in the form of scratches, nothing that extreme. Watch it, and have fun.
This is my list, but they are not the only good movies to watch on on Halloween. Watch whatever you find the best, these are just the movies I recommend. Have a happy Halloween, and make sure you put in the popcorn, and watch a good horror movie.

Greenfield Village Halloween Festival 2010
Hello Halloween lovers, Halloween Psycho here. Have you made plans for Halloween yet? Are you planning on doing anything other than carving pumpkins and wearing costumes? I'm sure you want to take your family somewhere that is fun for all. Go to Greenfield Village's annual Halloween Festival. It is filled with fun colorful characters, moments that make you jump, and a chance to do minimal trick or treating. I visited this place very skeptical, but I must say, they know how to celebrate a holiday. I entered this place, and it is a giant trail. You follow this VERY long rode, and as you go along, you see many characters. The first one I saw was a crazy mad scientist holding a lantern (the only lighting was lit jack-o-lanterns along the sides of the trail). He warned us of his monster that he created, it was loose and was running around the village (I never actually encountered it). As we continued our trail, we say many haunted houses, one of which was Henry Ford's house, holding his ghost. I also encountered a burning house, a grim reaper standing by a satanic bonfire, scratching his scythe, and it was one of the most eerie parts of the entire trail. As we continued to walk, we continued this seemingly normal house, until it was struck by lightning. All of a sudden, animated ghosts were flying around, and they transfered into three large pumpkins below the house. And then, the pumpkins grew faces, and were singing songs. And then, the house next to it, featured a ghostly girl, walking on the terrace. She kept complaining on how she was left all alone, and then began to softly sing a little chant. Another eerie sight. We then stopped to a local snack shop, where I got a donut, and some hot chocolate. And then, the last and greatest sight, the Headless Horseman (my new friend) chasing Ichabod Crane through the fields. He did not seem to be able to find him, so I struck a deal with him. I would tell him the whereabouts of Ichabod, if he posed for the camera. I told him he went left, so he stood at the camera in a monumental shot. Then, I went to the concession stand and bought a pumpkin cookie and a "Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark" book. Overall, I highly recommend this place for your Halloween plans.

Devil's Night
Devil's Night, also called Halloween Eve, falls on October 30th, and this is where the real Halloween scares begin to come in. On Devil's Night, many youths, particularly teenagers, 'cause many pranks, some harmless, some evil. This mostly happens in Detroit, however any place should beware. Many of these pranks include throwing toilet paper on many people's trees, and it is very hard to get out. Also re-arranging outside items is another common activity. How can you prevent this? I highly recommend joining a local neighborhood watch, and prevent any evildoing. But if you wish to protect your own property (I'm sure that's what you're aiming for) I recommend putting up some sort of security system. If you have pets, I highly recommend you do not let them outside past dark. You never know, they could be the center of a prank. Every Devil's Night, I always keep my pets inside, safely behind closed doors. Even if they must use the bathroom, having them go inside the house is worth not having them harmed by pranksters, isn't it? So, I hope you follow my advice on Devil's Night. Even if you think you live in a good neighborhood, you never know, your neighborhood might get some uninvited guests. Good day to all.

October, the month of Halloween!
Hello everyone, I am the Halloween Psycho, an anonymous blogger who will talk about Halloween and horror. Now, Halloween is my favorite holiday, it gets me in the horror mood, and I love putting on a new face every year. Even though I don't trick or treat, I still wear costumes and show my love for this wonderful holiday. It is very interesting from most holidays, but it is highly misunderstood by most. Most see it as I night of evil doing, or a night of horror and scary things, which many people hate. I once met a lady who hated the scary parts of Halloween so much, she loathed even pictures of cute ghosts and goblins by little children. I, however, relish the scary parts of Halloween. In fact without it, it would be just another holiday. But, luckily, it isn't just another holiday, it is very different from the likes of Christmas and Easter. Many children around the world, put on costumes, some creative, some not, to take part in the most celebrated part of the holiday, trick or treating. Every year, thousands of children around the world walk around with their little bags (I've always used pillow cases) and go door to door, say the legendary word "trick or treat?", and they gain loads and loads of candy. When the night is over, and the children are at home with their bags of candy, hide it under the beds, out of sight from their parents, and eat it whenever their awake. However, once youths become teenagers, their love for trick or treating starts to slowly go down, and their Halloween activities mostly consist of parties, haunted attractions, etc. However, I'm sure their are many teens who still try and sneak out into their neighborhood, and sneak a candy or two. Carving pumpkins is another fun activity, and any one of any age can participate. Every year I carve a pumpkin, and every year I enjoy it. It is probably the second most popular activity of Halloween, behind only trick or treating. Well, unfortunately I must cut my blog short, I have many Halloween activities to tend to. But you have not seen the last of me, I will continually post more things, like decoration tips and much more, throughout this month of October. I highly encourage you to take a look at my links, and see other Halloween things I do on other websites. Well, that's all from the Halloween Psycho, haunt to you all later!
